This summer, Studio Paon invites guests to Grimaud to encounter a dialogue between two distinct yet resonant visions of European art: Siegward Sprotte and Stefan Szczesny. On view from July 18 through August 31, 2026, the curation brings together works that move between meditation and vitality, landscape and figure, philosophical restraint and Mediterranean exuberance. Set within the gallery’s Provençal context, the exhibition offers a refined encounter with artists whose practices each transform the visible world into a language of sensation, memory, and painterly presence.
Siegward Sprotte, the German painter, draftsman, and watercolorist, is celebrated for an artistic philosophy rooted in close observation, distillation, and an almost contemplative proximity to nature. His work often reduces landscape to its essential rhythm, color, and atmosphere. Stefan Szczesny, born in Munich and long associated with the expressive force of the Neue Wilde movement, brings a more sensual and luminous register: bold figuration, sculptural silhouettes, flowers, bodies, and the vivid chromatic energy of the South.
